Southeastern Mills, Inc., Rome, Ga., said it purchasedSuperior Quality Foods(SQF), an Ontario, Calif., supplier of  food bases, gravy mixes and dry seasoning blends for retail and industrial customers.

Officials said SQF is a supplier to leading branded and private label food manufacturers, which use SQF bases as a key ingredient in frozen entrees and soups. Chefs use SQF bases as the starting point for their back-of-house recipe creations. 

Noted Bob Grizzard, Southeastern Mills president, "This strategic acquisition adds a third strong brand to Southeastern Mills' rapidly growing, nationally distributed retail portfolio. It also expands our product offering to our food processor, national account and foodservice distribution customers."

Southeastern Mills supplies food processors with batters and breadings, breadcrumbs, seasonings, marinades and other products.
