Columbus (Ohio) Business First reported that Minneapolis retailer Target Corp. received an eight-year, 60-percent tax credit from Ohio to build a planned $100 million packaged foods distribution center in West Jefferson, Ohio. The site would service 370 stores in Ohio and surrounding states, the publication reported.
Columbus (Ohio) Business First also reported that foodservice distributor Meadowbrook Meat Company Inc., Rocky Mount, N.C., plans to build a 125,000-square-foot distribution center in Obetz, Ohio
The nation's largest public refrigerated warehousing and logistics provider Americold, Atlanta, said it hired Hamid Arabzadeh as executive vice president and chief compliance officer. Arabzadeh most recently was the principal of HRA Environmental Consultants in Irvine, Calif. Prior to HRA, he was director of global industrial hygiene for UNOCAL Corp. Americold owns and operates 182 temperature-controlled warehouses, with over 1.1 billion cubic feet of storage, in the United States, Australia, New Zealand, China, Argentina and Canada.
In other news, Americold said it changed the company's Web address to www.americold.com.
