The Hain Celestial Group isn't kidding around. Officials believe the freezercase needs more healthy kids items and this Melville, N.Y., company is doing something about it.

Hain said it extended its Earth's Best line of organic baby and toddler foods to include new Earth's Best Kidz frozen Baked Popcorn Chicken and Baked Chicken Nuggets.

"They are quick and easy to make for a nutritious and delicious lunch or dinner," the company says. "They are baked to perfection, so kids will love the taste. Parents will love the all-natural nutrition."

Hain says it prepares both items with tender, all white meat, antibiotic free chicken, coated with 100 percent whole grain breading. Officials note the items are baked -- rather than fried -- to minimize fat content. They deliver 8 grams of whole grain per serving and contain 70 percent less fat than the comparable leading brand.

Hain adds that Earth’s Best Baked Popcorn Chicken and Baked Chicken Nuggets Value Bag contain no artificial flavors, colors or preservatives, no genetically engineered ingredients and no hydrogenated oils or trans fat. 

Earth’s Best Kidz Baked Popcorn Chicken is sold in an 8-ounce box carrying a suggest retail price of  $4.59 to $5.89.  Earth’s Best Kidz Baked Chicken Nuggets 16-ounce value bag is a line extension to the top selling 8-ounce box, officials says. That new value bag's suggested retail is $7.89  to $9.59, says Hain.
