Birds Eye Steamfresh Chef's Favorites

August 18, 2011

Don't feel like going out for dinner? Birds Eye will bring the restaurant taste home to you.

That's how Pinnacle Foods Group, Mountain Lakes, N.J., talks about four new Birds Eye Steamfresh® Chef's Favorites varieties.

"From quality ingredients such as Parmesan cheese and olive oil to new vegetable-rich risottos, Birds Eye is bringing restaurant-style vegetables to the dinner table at home," the company says.

"We know that people get excited about vegetable dishes served in restaurants because they are prepared by chefs and taste great," says Rodrigo Troni, Birds Eye vice president of marketing. "At Birds Eye, our chefs have created a line of delicious and nourishing vegetable-rich dishes that provide the best of both worlds – restaurant-inspired taste and the convenience of being able to steam and serve in minutes. Birds Eye is on a mission to help Americans discover the wonder of vegetables and what better way to do so than by offering great-tasting vegetables so families can enjoy them every day at home."

With a specially designed bag and advanced steaming technology, Pinnacle says consumers can quickly prepare perfectly cooked vegetables, rice and pasta blends right in the microwave. Birds Eye Steamfresh Chef's Favorites varieties are available in freezer sections nationwide. Suggested retail price is $2.69 - $3.09 per item.

New varieties include:

• Lightly Sauced Primavera Vegetable Risotto is a creamy risotto, with sweet green peas and tender carrots, with light notes of Parmesan cheese.

•Lightly Sauced Mushroom & Green Bean Risotto is made rich with savory mushrooms and the crunch of cut green beans.

•Lightly Sauced Creamed Spinach is all natural and the perfect pairing for a steakhouse dinner at home.

•Lightly Sauced Roasted Red Potatoes & Green Beans with Parmesan Olive Oil Sauce contains whole green beans and roasted baby red potatoes, lightly tossed in a Parmesan cheese and olive oil sauce.
