Cargill, Minneapolis, announced a $10.6 million expansion to its Lake Odessa, Mich., Cargill Kitchen Solutions plant. The complex on Bonanza Road will increase by nearly 22,500 square feet with additional room for cooler and freezer storage.

“Lake Odessa has been a wonderful community partner to us, and we are very pleased to invest additional resources in this area,” says Troy Peper, plant manager for the Lake Odessa facility. “As we made final expansion decisions, we appreciated the support of the Lake Odessa Economic Alliance and The Right Place. We also appreciated the support of local and state officials. These public-private partnerships demonstrate what can be done when we all work together.”

The expansion is expected to be completed with the plant fully operational by mid-summer 2014.

Cargill Kitchen Solutions is a marketer of further-processed egg products in North America, selling primarily to the foodservice sector.
