Alternative Transport Refrigerants
Beginning in January 2015, Minneapolis-based Thermo King will offertransport customers in Europe, the Middle East and Africa a choice on how and when to reduce its greenhouse gas (GHG) footprint.
This new line of energy-efficient trailer and self-powered truck units uses a next generation refrigerant that is said to contain about half the global warming potential (GWP) of refrigerant currently used.
R-452A, also known as DuPont Opteon XP44, was developed inpartnership with DuPont USA, Wilmington, Del., as an alternative line of transport refrigeration products, and will be used on new trailers and self-powered truck units.
