Fruit and Yogurt Smoothies

December 26, 2014

Origin Food Group has long fostered strong partnerships with dairy farmers to help grow the economy through the use of the highest-quality ingredients. Origin knows firsthand what it takes to build successful brands and deliver creative, useful products.

DaybreakSmoothie225Statesville, NC-based Origin Food Group recently joined forces with Chiquita under a licensing agreement to create Chiquita Daybreak Fruit and Yogurt Smoothies. Each Daybreak Fruit and Yogurt Smoothie is packed with 8 grams of protein, 10 percent of your daily fiber and premium probiotics.

“Origin is excited to be part of bringing an innovative Chiquita branded product to market,” says Glenn Patcha, Chief Operating Officer, Origin Food Group. “Chiquita has been part of breakfast for many years. Daybreak is a fusion of the nutrition and deliciousness consumers love from Chiquita and Origin's expertise in dairy and functional foods.”

Daybreak comes in five flavors: Orange Banana, Orange Strawberry, Peach Guanabana, Pineapple Mango and Strawberry Banana, and are each available in both a grab-n-go 10-ounce and family 32-ounce bottles. Daybreak contains no rBST hormones and is gluten free. Daybreak will be available in select Wal-Mart stores at the end of September.

Origin’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Statesville offers a wide array of manufacturing, production, and operational capabilities, including an in-house laboratory and dry and refrigerated storage warehouses.

The 20,000 sq. foot facility is Safe Quality Food (SQF) Level 3 Certified and strictly adheres to the latest manufacturing guidelines, including deploying Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and a strong Hazards Analysis & Critical Control Points (HAACP) plan.

Origin strives to provide quality products and value-added services that support partner business goals and exceed expectations, always, Origin’s COO Patcha says. Origin is well equipped to create healthy partnerships by focusing on the inherent goodness of natural products. The milk used to make Origin products is sourced locally; it comes from Stamey Farms literally across the street from the facility in Iredell County.

Beanstalk is Chiquita’s exclusive licensing agency and brought Chiquita and Origin Food Group together.
