Alfa Laval Inc., Richmond, Va., announced plans to close its LHE manufacturing plant in Qingdao, China. This comes after the manufacturer of heat transfer, centrifugal separation and fluid handling equipment moved manufacturing from Aalborg, Denmark, to its Qingdao, China, plant. 

LHE, a South Korean company within the Alfa Laval group, intends to move the production of heat exchangers from Qingdao to its existing site in Busan, South Korea, by end of April. The change will affect about 40 employees.

Only LHE’s manufacturing in Qingdao is affected by this initiative;the rest of Alfa Laval’s production in Qingdao remains unchanged.
