Mitsubishi Caterpillar Forklift America Inc. (MCFA), Houston, Texas, introduced the new 3,000- to 3,500-pound capacity Jungheinrich EKX 514/516K/516 man-up turret trucks, which feature lift heights up to 689 inches and can efficiently run up to two shifts on a single battery charge, eliminating the need for extra batteries and manpower requirements.

Unique benefits include:

·         The new motor technology converts around 93% of the energy consumed into actual output, cutting energy losses by half, resulting in an up to 15% reduction in energy consumption compared to the previous generation.

·         Asynchronous reluctance motor, which is said to be used for the first time in the material handling industry, combines the high performance and energy efficiency of two motors with the low maintenance requirements of three-phase AC motors.

·         When operating with the optional Jungheinrich warehouse navigation system, very narrow aisle warehouse customers can achieve an up to 25% increase in throughput efficiency for added productivity.

·         The new Floor Pro option provides hydraulic vibration dampening for a smoother ride. The Sideshift Plus option helps facilitate load handling and saves time, while allowing the EKX to work effectively in very narrow aisles.
