Crook Brothers, Beckley, W.V., acquired Corey Brothers, Charleston, W.V., effective Aug. 31.

"The transaction will immediately give Crook Brothers a greater ability to service WV and its surrounding 5-state region where national contracts can be better served," says Kenneth Crook, president of Crook Brothers.

Corey Brothers will operate as a stand-alone Crook Brothers subsidiary and continue with "business as usual," with all facets of current management and employee responsibilities intact to provide continuity in freshness, quality, food safety and service as well as procedures, personnel, routes, customer, and billing procedures. Corey Brothers’ owner Bob Corey will remain during the transition and will be of counsel on an ongoing basis.
