Saputo broadens presence in specialty cheese by acquiring Montchevre
The transaction will enable Saputo’s U.S. cheese division to broaden its presence in specialty cheese in the United States.

Saputo Inc., Canada, entered into an agreement to acquire Betin, Inc., doing business as Montchevre. The Belmont, Wis.-based specialty cheese manufacturer employs approximately 319 people and markets and distributes goat cheese under the Montchevre brand.
The transaction will enable Saputo’s U.S. cheese division to broaden its presence in specialty cheese in the United States.
