Danfoss, Baltimore, Md., released its new EVR v2 solenoid valve, making it capable of accommodating higher refrigerant pressure and a broader range of applications while reducing the references, inventory and servicing time.

The Danfoss EVR range of solenoid valves are now optimized for manufacturers and installers in commercial refrigeration and food retailers. The new EVR valve platform covers a wide range of functions, applications and refrigerants, and is approved for lower-GWP (Global Warming Potential) refrigerants, including R-290 (propane).

Tight solenoid closures safeguard the system and contribute to food safety and enhanced flow characteristics for high efficiency. In the liquid line, the tight shutoff prevents refrigerant flow back to the compression side. In the discharge line, the new Danfoss EVR v2 can withstand high temperatures and reduce system energy consumption compared to other defrost methods. Therefore, the valves are a high-value option for cold rooms, freezers, ice cream machines and food retail display cases.
