Alfa Laval, Richmond, Va., signed an agreement to acquire certain technologies and activities from Airec, a Sweden-based innovation company with patented technology for dimple asymmetry heat exchangers.

The new company will be integrated into Alfa Laval’s brazed and fusion bonded heat exchangers unit of the energy division.

The technology for dimple asymmetrical heat exchangers opens many markets and applications for Alfa Laval.

“It is an interesting acquisition that fits very well with our ambitions to continue to drive growth within brazed and fusion bonded heat exchangers,” says Susanne Pahlén Åklundh, president of Alfa Laval’s energy division. “Through the acquisition, we gain speed to the market as we do not need to develop the technology ourselves. The technology fits very well into our manufacturing, processes and existing sales channels.”
