Squid Ink Manufacturing, Inc., Brooklyn Park, Minn., introduced a line of mineral oil-free (MOF) inks approved for use in Xaar 128 and 502 print heads, including Squid Ink’s CoPilot and AutoPilot family of printers.

Squid Ink’s 100% MOF inks are designed as a direct replacement for petroleum-based inks for use on porous substrates. As a response to European food safety regulations, Squid Ink formulated inks with near zero volatile organic compounds (VOCs), zero hazardous air pollutants and no hazardous ingredients, thus reducing the risks associated with mineral oil ink contamination in the food packaging industry.

These environmentally friendly inks are designed to perform at the same high standards as oil-based inks, and result in dark, reliable print for easy-to-read package coding and increased barcode scannability. MOF inks come in a variety of colors, including black, red, blue and green.
