The J.M. Smucker Co., Orrville, Ohio, will unveil its new 430,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Longmont, Colo. The new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility will produce Smucker’s Uncrustables frozen handheld sandwiches, thus doubling production currently managed solely at its Scottsville, Ky., facility.

In 2017, Smucker announced plans to build an additional Smucker’s Uncrustables manufacturing facility to help meet growing demand.

This new facility uses advanced manufacturing processes. For instance, every sandwich is photographed and reviewed in real-time for unwanted crust or excess fillings. This technology enhances predictive capabilities to limit waste and increase efficiency.

Uncrustables continue to be one of our fastest growing brands, and we are excited to begin production at the new Longmont facility to meet increasing demand across the country for this beloved product,” says Mark Smucker, president and CEO. “We appreciate the support we have received from state and local officials, and are pleased to have a presence in the greater Denver community.”
