Atlas Copco is launching its first process cooling chiller range in the U.S. The launch of the TCX 4-90A Process Cooling Chiller range (TCX range) fits perfectly with the company’s ethos of going further and deeper into core categories to better serve its customers.

The TCX range features a compact, all-in-one water chiller with an air-cooled condenser and integrated hydro module, with units available in a variety of sizes. TCX chillers are specially designed for cooling water (or a mixture of water and glycol) for a wide range of industrial segments including food and beverage, machine cooling, medical, pharmaceutical, plastics, and printing.

The new range maximizes efficiency and delivers the reliability and performance customers expect and demand from an Atlas Copco product. The design of the TCX range’s state-of-the-art microchannel condensers requires 30% less refrigerant, making the units more environmentally friendly while lowering potential maintenance charges over the life of the chiller.

Atlas Copco entered the industrial cooling market through the acquisition of Eurochiller S.r.l., an Italian manufacturer and distributor of industrial cooling equipment and related products, in May 2019. Over the last year, Atlas Copco leveraged its more than 140 years of design experience to deliver an innovative ‘family-style’ process chiller with a wealth of efficiency features and built-in connectivity.

The innovative and familiar Elektronikon Mk5 Touch controller features in most models, putting control at the user’s fingertips. Additionally, SMARTLINK 24/7 monitoring is available as part of the chiller’s total package. The TCX range can also be covered on a service contract, along with all other Atlas Copco mechanical equipment, such as air compressors, dryers, nitrogen generation systems and low-pressure blowers.

Robert Tucker, an Atlas Copco business development manager with close to 30 years of industrial fluid dynamics experience, will lead the cooling equipment market expansion under the Oil-free Air Division within the Atlas Copco Compressor Compressors business in the U.S.

“We have developed a really innovative product portfolio and are bringing a proposition never before seen to the U.S. market,” Tucker stated. “By introducing these new products, we are giving customers a fantastic opportunity to complete their efficiency package with this new range of industrial chillers.”

The TCX range is Atlas Copco’s first range of industrial cooling equipment in the U.S. There is a plan to introduce more new products to the market in 2021, extending the portfolio to 500 tons of cooling capacity. The addition of industrial cooling provides an industry-leading product, which is a perfect complementary product to the current Atlas Copco portfolio, and will be targeted to the same industrial customer base.
