Blenders & Bowls and Laura’s Gourmet Granola, two women-owned food brands, have combined their products to create a healthy meal or snack on-the-go from your freezer: smoothie bowls.

Blenders & Bowls founders, Kara Jordan and Erin Thompson took their popular smoothie bowls sold at their brick-and-mortar cafés in Austin, Texas, packed them frozen into ready-to-go, 6-ounce containers and then collaborated with Laura’s Gourmet Granola to top them with a golden, delicious granola to create a whole new way to enjoy smoothie bowls at home.

Blenders & Bowls come in four flavors, including:

  • The O.G.: açaí, strawberry, banana;
  • The Sesher: açaí, peanut butter, and cacao;
  • The Sunny: mango, pineapple, banana;
  • The Magic Dragon: dragonfruit, pineapple, mango.

The 6-ounce size frozen smoothie bowls are topped with the artisan-batch granola for a complete meal to-go that is gluten free, vegan and dairy-free, and has no processed sugar.

According to Kara Jordan, co-founder of Blenders & Bowls, the relationship with Laura’s Gourmet Granola was such a natural fit because both companies have a mission to create healthy, clean, delicious food. “We are the experts at everything smoothie bowl,” says Jordan. “So, we sought out a granola expert, a like-minded granola company that could provide the perfect crunch and flavor we needed for our bowls and we found that in Laura’s Gourmet Granola.”

Chef Laura Briscoe, Founder of Laura’s Gourmet Granola agrees. "We were thrilled to have the opportunity to work with another woman-owned business to create a healthy, innovative, all-natural product as an inclusion in their brand. From a Chef’s perspective, we happily accepted the challenge of creating a new blend to accommodate a texture and flavor profile request using specific ingredients.  Our subsequent partnership with Blenders & Bowls demonstrates the synergy of our collective values and mission,” says Briscoe.

Laura’s Gourmet Granola was recently certified as a women-owned business by The Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC). The 6-ounce smoothie bowls with Laura's Gourmet Granola are sold in 125 H-E-B’s, the Southwest Region of Wholefoods, Harmon's, Lowes Foods and other retailers.

About Blenders & Bowls

Blenders & Bowls is the combined passion of two best friends, Erin Thompson and Kara Jordan. In 2010, these adventurous and free-spirited girls moved from Hawaii to Austin and opened a food truck selling açaí bowls. Their passion quickly grew into several brick-and-mortar shops, and rapidly became a household name in Austin. After ten years of perfecting smoothie bowls in retail, they discovered their customers wanted smoothie blends to make bowls at home. With growing families of their own, Erin and Kara realized pre-blended, ready-to-scoop smoothies need to be a staple in every freezer. Now, Blenders & Bowls is on a mission to bring healthy and convenient food into homes across the globe to encourage energetic lifestyles and positive habits.

About Laura's Gourmet Granola

Laura’s Gourmet Granola products not only taste fresh and delicious but also incorporate super foods such as dried - not dehydrated – fruits including cherries and blueberries, almonds, pecans, peanuts, flax seed, hemp protein and organic coconut flakes. All nine of Laura’s Gourmet Granola flavors are made from premium ingredients and are baked the artisan way—one batch at a time— from chef-created recipes, making this brand truly “gourmet granola”. Laura’s Gourmet Granola can be found online at www.laurasgourmet.com, on Amazon.com, and at fine retail outlets such as Central Market, AJ’s Fine Foods, regional locations of Whole Foods Market and Albertson’s/Safeway, plus many other specialty locations. In addition, Laura’s Gourmet Granola is on the menu at select restaurants, hotels, and multi-unit cafés across the United States.  First developed in her home kitchen and then professionally evolved, each recipe is scaled and tested repeatedly to ensure consistency in flavor and texture until it meets the Chef’s satisfaction. Only then is each granola flavor made, one batch at a time.
