Milk Meets Metaverse as Clover Sonoma Launches New Packaging, AR Farm Tour

With a simple scan of the QR code on Clover’s new cartons, consumers unlock a cutting-edge AR experience that transports them directly to a virtual Clover Sonoma farm.

October 19, 2025

Clover Sonoma, California’s leading dairy brand and a pioneer in quality and sustainability for more than a century, is turning heads in the dairy aisle with the debut of its refreshed packaging and an industry-first innovation: an Augmented Reality (AR) farm tour featuring Clover’s beloved mascot, Clo the Cow

This is the first packaging update in nearly a decade, and it’s more than just a makeover. The modern, vibrant design brings new life to Clover Sonoma’s milk, cream, butter, cottage cheese, cream cheese, and sour cream, signaling the brand’s premium quality and farm-fresh heritage, while engaging shoppers in a fresh, playful way.

But the excitement doesn’t stop at the shelf. With a simple scan of the QR code on Clover’s new cartons, consumers unlock a cutting-edge AR experience that transports them directly to a virtual Clover Sonoma farm. Families can:

  • •Meet Clover’s family farmer partners.
  •  Interact with cows and learn about sustainable dairy practices.
  • Snap selfies with Clo the Cow.
  • Enter to win exclusive Clover Sonoma prizes.

The new packaging also reflects Clover Sonoma’s ongoing leadership in sustainability. Each redesigned carton includes an upgraded lining made from renewable, plant-based plastic derived from non-GMO sugarcane, layered with Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)–certified paperboard.

This change doubles Clover’s annual use of renewable cartons—from 5 million to 10 million—while replacing 100,000 pounds of petroleum-based plastic with planet-friendly alternatives. These renewable milk cartons are recyclable at participating facilities throughout California.

“We are always looking for ways to connect with our consumers while staying true to our values,” said John Coletta, CEO of Clover Sonoma. “Our bright, modern packaging tells our story of heritage and quality while pointing to our future—whether through sustainable materials or breakthrough digital experiences like our AR farm tour. We’re bringing the joy of Clover to life in a way that’s fun for families and meaningful for the planet.”

With its dual launch of bold packaging and first-to-market AR technology, Clover Sonoma continues to raise the bar for what a dairy brand can be—blending innovation, engagement, and environmental responsibility in every carton. Clover Sonoma products can be found throughout California at major grocery, natural and independent retailers.

About Clover Sonoma
Based in Petaluma, California, in the heart of beautiful Sonoma County, Clover Sonoma offers high-quality dairy sourced from its network of local family farm partners. A leader in sustainable dairy farming, Clover has the largest organic dairy acreage of regeneratively farmed land in the state and is committed to reducing its carbon footprint by lowering on-farm methane emissions, regenerative farming practices focused on soil health and packaging innovation. The first dairy in the U.S. to become American Humane Certified, Clover has delivered on its promise of producing the highest-quality dairy products — including milk, cheese, butter, and more — for more than a century. As a Certified B Corporation, Clover gives back 5% of net profits to help make nutritious food more accessible and uses its business as a power for good across its support for people, farms, animals, community and planet.
