Synear Foods Enters Frozen Bakery With Portuguese-Style Tarts

Croissant Tart
Synear Foods USA

Synear’s dessert-focused innovation delivers an irresistible contrast between a crisp exterior and a rich, silky custard center, offering the beloved textures of a high-end pastry in a convenient format.

June 26, 2026

Synear Foods USA, a global leader in premium, authentic frozen Asian cuisine, is entering into the bakery category with the debut of its Portuguese-Style Croissant Egg Tart.

Combining a flaky, buttery, multi-layered base of a classic croissant with a rich, smooth, and plump caramel custard filling, the new offering will be rolling out at all Costco locations in Western Canada this month.

Synear’s dessert-focused innovation delivers an irresistible contrast between a crisp exterior and a rich, silky custard center, offering the beloved textures of a high-end pastry in a convenient format.

Synear’s newest addition to its lineup elevates the egg tart experience with a rich, buttery crust of 16 distinct layers and a full, incredibly smooth caramel custard filling that makes up 50% of the tart inside. Visually, the flower-like scalloped edge signals a premium, high-end bakery item that stands out from a standard tart.

The launch marks a strategic entry into the frozen bakery category from Synear Foods USA, a brand that has been widely recognized for its industry-leading frozen Asian staples. As the only Chinese legacy frozen food brand to successfully offer products in Costco aisles, Synear Foods USA is now uniquely positioned as a full-service provider of authentic Asian culinary experiences.

“Our entry into the frozen bakery category with the Portuguese-Style Croissant Egg Tart marks a pivotal evolution for Synear Foods USA,” said CEO of Synear Foods USA, Judy Zhu. “By debuting this versatile, high-demand pastry at Costco, we’re not just launching a product; we’re delivering a premium, multi-sensory experience that meets the sophisticated cravings of today’s global consumer.”

Synear maintains the highest standard for quality and safety. Each box contains 12 individual fully cooked tarts that can be enjoyed hot or cold, a convenient option for shoppers seeking deluxe pastries. For an ice cream texture, serve cold after thawing at room temperature for 5 minutes or reheat in an oven or air fryer for 16 minutes.
