Supplier Shorts: Emerson acquires Vilter, Caraustar reorganizes
SUPPLIER SHORTS: Emerson Climate Technologies, St. Louis, said it purchased industrial refrigeration equipment supplier Vilter Manufacturing LLC, Cudahy, Wis. Terms were not disclosed. Officials said Vilter, a manufacturer of refrigeration compressors, will become part of Emerson's Refrigeration Division, led by President Ram Krishnan. . . . Paperboard packaging supplier Caraustar Industries Inc., Atlanta, said it reached agreement with senior note holders to reduce debt by $135 million and reorganize under terms to be approved by a U.S. Bankruptcy Court in the northern district of Georgia. Officials say the reorganized business will be a private entity with Wayzata Investment Partners LLC as the controlling shareholder.
