Houchens acquires Tampico Beverages

Houchens Industries Inc., a diversified, $3 billion private company, said it purchased Chicago's Tampico Beverages Inc. in an undisclosed cash deal. With annual sales exceeding $350 million, Tampico is a producer and worldwide supplier of refrigerated juice drinks and value-added juice drink concentrates. Houchens, Bowling Green, Ky., has a portfolio that includes convenience stores, restaurants, grocery stores, insurance, construction, manufacturing, recycling, materials distribution, software and Website development.
