Sussman acquires East Coast deli salads processor
EM-ESS Acquisition LLC -- representing New York businessman Marvin Sussman -- has acquired Chloe Foods Corp., the Brooklyn, N.Y., parent to East Coast deli salads processor Blue Ridge Farms. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
"Our customers and our suppliers can now rest assured that Blue Ridge Farms has the financial stability and the management expertise to ensure that it will quickly regain its leadership role in the food industry," said Uri Evan, Blue Ridge Farms' new chief executive officer.
Evan formerly was CEO at USA Detergents. He also founded NetGrocer.com
Blue Ridge Farms LLC processes and distributes refrigerated potato salad, cole slaw, other vegetable and protein salads, gourmet entrees and other specialties.
