Supplier Shorts: Triangle, Powerit in the news
Powerit Solutions, Seattle, said it received a Connectivity Week Buildy Award May 26 for its work with Four Star Fruit of Delano, Calif. The award was in the "Smart Industrial" category, which recognizes the application of innovative ideas and technologies to device and system connectivity in the industrial automation and manufacturing field, particularly for energy management, sustainable manufacturing, and industrial-to-grid applications. Officials said this is Powerit's second Buildy Award.
Officials said the Four Start Fruit project integrated automated demand response (Auto-DR) technology and energy efficiency (EE), and it is among the first projects jointly financed by Southern California Edison’s EE and Auto-DR incentive programs. Using Powerit’s Spara product, Four Star Fruit, a table grape producer, reduced its electric bill 16 percent annually and achieved ROI in less than two months.
