Service Cold Storage, Tippmann Group Break Ground on New Cold Storage Warehouse
Service Cold Storage, LLC, and Tippmann Group, Fort Wayne, Ind., broke ground on a new cold storage warehouse facility at 5700 E.M. Copps Drive in Stevens Point, Wis. The new facility will serve as a frozen distribution warehouse, covering nearly 157,000 square feet and creating 30 new jobs in the community.
“We at Service Cold Storage are extremely excited to have this opportunity,” says Milton Austin, president of Service Cold Storage. “The opportunity to partner with both the Tippmann Group and the City of Stevens Point has been such a positive and exciting experience, resulting in the development and construction of a state-of-the-art cold storage/distribution facility in the newly developed Stevens Point East Park Commerce Center. The New East Park location allows us the ability to expand and grow in the ever-prospering economic community of Portage County and Stevens Point, Wis.”
The warehouse, which is scheduled to be completed in June 2014, includes 126,982 square feet of frozen storage space, an 18,700-square-foot shipping/receiving dock, maintenance and material handling areas totaling 4,166 square feet, a 2,813-square-foot machine room and a 4,200-square-foot office.
“We’re excited to be working with Service Cold Storage on the construction of this project,” says John Tippmann, Jr., president of Tippmann Group. “We look forward to providing them with a first-class warehouse, which will serve them well for years to come.”
