FoodServiceWarehouse.com, a company that sells foodservice equipment online, selected underground space in Hunt Midwest SubTropolis in Kansas City, Mo., for Foodservice Warehouse undergroundits central order fulfillment and distribution location.

The 475,200-square-foot warehouse and distribution space offers an option to expand to 792,000 square feet over the next four years.

The company, based in Greenwood Village, Colo., expects to create about 40 jobs in connection with its initial capital investment of $11 million. The company hasn’t yet specified what kinds of jobs will be available when the underground operations open toward the end of this year.

The energy efficiency of the underground, the high-speed internet connectivity and the nearby surface transportation network attracted the company to this site. FoodServiceWarehouse.com will continue to maintain its offices and warehouse in the Denver area.
