United States Cold Storage, Voorhees, N.J., announced plans to open a new cold storage facility in Syracuse, Utah, in November.

Located in the new Ninigret North Industrial Park, USCS sits on a 35-acre parcel with ample room to grow. It features 5.2 million cubic feet of refrigerated storage (22,850 pallet positions) and another 1 million cubic feet of food grade dry storage (4,084 pallet positions). This flexible facility will also accommodate products in four distinct freezer, refrigerated and dry storage areas.

Union Pacific Railroad provides Salt Lake with refrigerated and dry rail service. With 18 refrigerated dock doors, six dry dock doors and cross-dock transportation services, USCS can manage any program with efficiency. Plus, this facility is located 35 miles from the local intermodal yard.

Operations include a state-of-the-art CO² refrigeration system as well as future capacity for low-temp blast freezing.
