Americold, Atlanta, purchased a temperature-controlled storage facility in East Point, Ga., bolstering the company’s Georgia-based facility network to 15 and controlling more than 90 million cubic feet of capacity.

“We’re fortunate to be supporting some very successful food producers and retailers who are rapidly expanding throughout the Southeast. They needed additional, dedicated capacity and challenged us to become their provider of choice,” says Fred Boehler, president and CEO. “The East Point site is centrally accessible within the Atlanta metro area, and is a critical component of our Atlanta distribution strategy. It will complement our existing network very well.”

The site is expected to add more than 60 new jobs, as it ramps up operations during the second half of 2016.
