R² Freight & Logistics acquires Integrated Distribution Services’ transportation division
This partnership brings over-the-top customer service.
R² Freight & Logistics, Inc., Plainfield, Ind., acquired the transportation services division of Integrated Distribution Services, Inc. (IDS), Avon, Ind.
“IDS Transportation achieved its full vision under the IDS structure, and it was time to expand upon the vision to bring to market other freight solutions with the same over-the-top customer experience shippers have come to expect from us,” says Rick LaGore, chief executive officer of R².
“We are not forgetting or leaving behind the leadership and expertise we established in 53-foot domestic intermodal, but leveraging it with other modes within our TTS, Inc. agency network of over $500 million in freight spend,” adds Shelli Austin, president of IDS. “The partnerships in the development of our intermodal service are invaluable for the shippers we serve with the latest example being our ability to help move Hanjin boxes inland.”
