System Logistics, an Ada, Mich.-based Krones Group company, acquired the Vertique business from Illinois Tool Works Inc., Glenview, Ill. 

This acquisition reinforces Systems Logistics’ presence in the U.S. food and beverage markets, where Vertique plays a leading role by providing warehouse automation products and solutions.

Vertique, Arden, N.C., provides solutions for intra-logistics.

“We believe that this strategic acquisition is an opportunity for System Logistics to reinforce our presence in the U.S. market and to complement what we already offer,” says Luigi Panzetti, chief executive officer of System Logistics. “Vertique is the leading company in the United States for case picking, and now it will be able to offer solutions for pallet storage and material handling such as automated storage and retrieval systems and laser-guided vehicles.”
