Kansas City Southern (KCS), Kansas City, Mo., and its subsidiary, The Kansas City Southern Railway Co. (KCSR), is investing approximately $25 million in 2017 on construction and improvement projects on its Beaumont Subdivision.

Rail, cross tie and crossing improvements are planned between DeQuincy and Hornbeck, La. The work is expected to begin early February and continue through early April. In total, the project will include the replacement of approximately 24 miles of rail, 70,000 cross ties and improvements to 56 road crossings.
