Bongards Creameries, Chanhassen, Minn., announced plans to nearly double the size of its Humboldt, Tenn., production facility. The newly expanded 190,000-square-foot plant includes renovations and updates to the existing facility, and will add 95 new jobs.
“This expansion will allow us to increase our overall production, packaging and processing capabilities and better serve our growing customer base in the Southeastern United States,” says Keith Grove, chief executive officer.
Construction will begin Aug. 1, and is scheduled to be completed in the spring of 2018.
In addition to the Humboldt plant expansion, Grove announced the Fall 2017 expansion of the company’s Chanhassen headquarters after just six months in the new office space. The 12,000-square-foot addition is slated to be completed by year-end. This work comes on the heels of a $45 million expansion to the company’s Perham, Minn., plant, which was completed in 2015, and represented a complete plant rebuild and increased capacity.
“This is an exciting time for our company, and represents the commitment to quality that our farmers, employees and partners have shared for more than a century,” says Chris Freeman, chief financial officer.
