Pinnacle Foods Inc., Parsippany, N.J., announced plans to expand its frozen meal manufacturing hub. The company will build a 164,000-square-foot frozen goods warehouse connected directly to its existing building in Fayetteville, Ark. It is expected to become operational this fall.

Locating the warehouse with the manufacturing plant will eliminate more than 130,000 miles of tractor-trailer traffic from Interstate 49 and will reduce approximately 21,452 gallons of fuel saved, which includes a reduction of 218 metric tons of carbon dioxide.

“We are pleased to be working in partnership with Fayetteville community leaders to expand our facility and bring more jobs to the area,” says Chad Whyte, vice president logistics and warehousing. “This project is good for Pinnacle, Fayetteville and the environment.”
