FLS Transportation Services Ltd., Chicago, acquired Scott Logistics Corp., Rome, Ga.

Scott Logistics will leverage its 21 years of experience and its extensive carrier network to provide personalized transportation solutions to the 48 contiguous United States.

“Scott Logistics is one of the fastest growing 3PLs in our space,” says John Leach, chief executive officer of FLS. “Scott’s focus to deliver true value for its customers stems from its people, processes and technology. The combination of FLS’s 30-year cross-border expertise with Scott’s deep U.S. carrier network will significantly increase our scale and coverage in the highly fragmented truck load brokerage space.”

Currently, FLS services clients through 10 branches across United States and Canada. Scott’s acquisition, which is a key part of the company’s growth strategy, will add eight branches and five agent locations to its portfolio, further strengthening its operational presence in the United States.

“This acquisition creates a 3PL with revenues of approximately $500 million, and will provide a solid foundation to further accelerate our industry leading growth,” says Leach.

“We found an excellent partner with FLS Transport to deepen our current market position in the U.S. and enter the attractive Canadian market. This combination allows us to offer our customers an expansion of geographies and enhanced capabilities by integrating with FLS Transport’s suite of services,” says Jay Matthews, president of Scott Logistics. “This partnership solidifies the commitment that Diane Manis made to excellence in customer service when she started Scott Logistics 24 years ago. It is exciting to keep her legacy ongoing through this alignment with the FLS team.”
