EarthFresh to build packing plant, distribution hub
This new 140,000-square-foot facility will utilize the newest available technologies and equipment.
EarthFresh, Canada, announced plans to build a $22 million advanced technology packing plant and distribution center in College Park, Ga., which will create 100 new jobs.
This new 140,000-square-foot facility will utilize the newest available technologies and equipment to serve customers throughout the Southeast. EarthFresh Atlanta will be fully operational in September.
“This new location perfectly complements our vision and plan to provide fresh potatoes to our retailers, foodservice distributor, and consumers,” says Tom Hughes, chief executive officer. “The addition of this new location will allow us to keep expanding our base of business and target new customers. The assistance provided to us by the Georgia Department of Economic Development was invaluable. The state and people of Georgia will benefit from our investment of bringing fresh potatoes to the area and creating more jobs.”
EarthFresh supplies premium potatoes, carrots and onions to the foodservice and retail industries.
