Process engineering group GEA and Israeli foodtech start-up Better Juice have joined forces to help beverage manufacturers produce healthier, lower-sugar fruit juice. Better Juice has developed a groundbreaking solution that naturally reduces the amount of sugar in fresh juice by up to 80 percent, without affecting its nutritional value or taste. GEA is now engineering the process technology the start-up needs, setting this innovative solution on course for industrial production.
GEA will launch in November its new vertical SmartPacker CX400 D-Zip for pre-packaged food products for retail and foodservice. It combines fast, high-quality operation with maximum flexibility and uptime. Apart from producing premium quality D-ZIP bags, this easy-to-use machine can produce more than 10 different bag styles for a wide variety of applications such as candy, nuts, frozen fruits and grated cheese. The new machine integrates a newly developed corner seal unit, designed to reduce complexity and improve quality, flexibility and serviceability, thereby meeting the demands of today’s processors.
GEA has recently opened the doors to its new GEA Pet Food Experience Center (PEX) in Galliera Veneta, Italy. The role of the new center is to drive innovation in cooperation with customers and industry partners and to function as a locus for sharing latest know-how, where partners can anticipate a high level of technological development support.
The modular orbital cleaner OC200 rotates around the horizontal and vertical axis. The OC200 can be equipped with two, three or four nozzles of different length and diameter. The internal profiling of the nozzles creates a high impact jet, which ensures intensive cleaning of the inner surface of the tank or container. The orbital cleaner can be operated at pressures ranging from 4 to 10 bar. It covers a wide range of tank sizes with its variance in terms of the number of nozzles, variable nozzle diameters, lengths and rotation speeds. Thanks to its powerful jets, it can clean tanks with a diameter of up to 36 metres.
