The new company is now EVAPCO Select Technologies, a food plant systems integrator specializing in design-build-installation of facility systems, production line integration, process automation, ammonia refrigeration, supervisory systems, and IT integration.
The transaction expands Universal Pure’s geographic reach in the Midwest, facilitating the delivery of higher levels of service and quality to its growing base of over 150 food and beverage customers.
The assets include inventory, equipment, a sublease for a portion of a manufacturing facility in Yuma, Arizona, and a lease for a warehouse facility in San Luis, Arizona.
Headquartered in Vaughan, Ontario, VersaCold is a cold chain leader that runs 24 temperature-controlled facilities comprising 114 million cubic feet of storage.
The company says the move will ensure it remains true to its core values while continuing to grow and innovate for the greater long-term benefit of its employees, customers, and partners.
With the acquisition, EVAPCO’s Refrigeration Division strengthens its chiefly ammonia-based industrial technology offerings through immediate expansion into – and synergy with – LMP’s CO2 expertise and product offerings.
