Farbest Foods, Huntingburg, Ind., began moving dirt in the Vincennes Industrial Park in Vincennes, Ind., for its new turkey processing plant. The 227,000-square-foot plant will initially employ 360 people, and is expected to begin production in January 2014.
Pregis Corp., a Deerfield, Ill.-based supplier of protective packaging solutions, acquired Inter-Pac, Inc., based in Tupelo, Miss., for an undisclosed amount.
Bob Evans Farms, Inc., Columbus, Ohio, and its subsidiary, BEF Foods, Inc., acquired Kettle Creations, LLC, the Kettle Creations brand and a 100,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art food manufacturing plant located in Lima, Ohio, that produces mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese and other side dishes.
