The objective of the collaboration is to combine efforts between the public and private sectors and support the scaling up of current programs.

The Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) launched a public-private partnership with the Argentinian Ministry of Agribusiness, Argentina, to develop a national training program based on GFSI’s Global Markets Program and collaborate on national food safety events.
The reports offer a look at the amount and kinds of food wasted in Denver, Colo.; Nashville, Tenn.; and New York, providing a detailed look at waste in people’s homes.

More than two-thirds of all food discarded in people’s homes in three major U.S. cities was potentially edible, and up to 68 million additional meals annually could potentially be donated to people in need in those cities, according to a pair of new reports released by the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), New York, with support from The Rockefeller Foundation, also based in New York.
The partnership sets out to develop large-scale food safety capability building projects in a number of key regions in the global food supply network.
