Smurfit Kappa Group, one of the world's largest integrated manufacturers of paper-based packaging products with operations in Europe and the Americas, has completed the acquisition of Cartones del Pacifico, a leading paper-based packaging company in Peru.
Alan Hewitt has been named business development manager at global flexible packaging and lidding films supplier KM Packaging. In his new role with KM, Alan will be responsible for sales of lidding film and flexible packaging in the UK and Ireland.
TricorBraun Flex, the flexible packaging division of global packaging leader TricorBraun, has launched Biotre 3.0, a fully-compostable, plant-based packaging material. Biotre is a flexible packaging film made from renewable and compostable resources, such as wood and pulp. The global flexible plastic packaging market is projected to generate revenues of $172.29 million from 2018-2023 with a steady CAGR of 3.2% during this period, according to a study shared by Frost & Sullivan, San Antonio, Texas.
