Listeria Concerns Prompt Rich’s Ice Cream Bars Recall

FDA has added BMS Foods to a new import alert for chemical contamination to stop products from the firm from entering the U.S., until the firm has resolved the conditions that led to the violation.
Florida-based Rich’s Ice Cream Co. is recalling over 100,000 cases of ice cream bars and frozen novelties due to possible listeria contamination.
The company voluntarily recalled 110,292 cases of frozen dessert products across 23 states due to potential listeria contamination, in June.
The FDA this week upgraded it to a Class II threat meaning the food has the potential to "cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences.”
The following products, labeled with Lot #24351 through #25156, are included in the recall:
- Chocolate Crunch Cake Bar
- Strawberry Shortcake Bar
- Rich Bar
- Crumbled Cookie Bar
- Orange Cream Bar
- Fudge Frenzy Bar
- Cotton Candy Twirl Bar
- Savagely Sour BlueRaspberry Bar
- Savagely Sour Cherry Bar
- Cool Watermelon Bar
