Fortress Technology Demonstrates Hygienic Inspection at IPPE

IPPE is the world's largest annual display of technology, equipment, supplies and services used in the production, processing and packaging of eggs, meat and poultry and those involved in feed manufacturing.
At IPPE 2026, food safety specialist Fortress Technology will present a selection of hygienic inspection systems designed to assist meat and poultry processors in implementing effective inspection equipment that supports sanitation.
Explore time-saving hygienic features on the Icon X-ray, an automatic testing solution on the Meat Pump metal detector, and easy-clean lift nose conveyor belt de-tensioners on a Fortress Technology sanitary conveyor. These advanced systems are designed to uphold public health standards by enabling meat and poultry processors to detect and prevent contaminants in food products, thereby minimizing risks to consumers.
Robust and easy to clean, the Fortress Technology Icon X-ray system significantly enhances consumer safety and contaminant detection in hygienic food processing facilities. Installed at the end of meat and poultry packing lines, time-saving sanitation features include sloped surfaces to promote water runoff, easily removable magnetic X-ray curtains, and tool-less belt removal for ease of maintenance and sanitation. The self-contained stainless-steel cabinet means no additional shielding or guarding is needed to meet X-ray exposure requirements.
Utilized to help prevent metal contaminants from reaching the packaging stage in viscous meat products is the Fortress Meat Pump metal detector. A removable ultra-hygienic plastic scanning pipe constructed from a single piece of food-safe plastic can mitigate bacteria from accumulating in crevices found on most scanning pipes. Additionally, a unique rail mounted reject valve, and a motorized lift supports maintenance processes, reducing sanitation times and addressing ergonomic staff risks.
The Meat Pump metal detector is also equipped with Halo Automatic Testing, which can fully test the systems’ performance without the need for introducing test samples in the product flow.
Throughout IPPE, the Fortress team will demonstrate how automatic testing is reducing the risk of human error and can minimize meat residue from contaminating multiple surfaces. Addressing the challenge of repeatably inserting, retrieving and sanitizing test balls and sticks when verifying the performance of pipeline and conveyor metal detectors which can be time consuming and messy, Halo Automatic Testing can be combined with Fortress Technology’s Contact 4.0 reporting software to support processors in building a stronger and irrefutable data-driven food safety culture.
