Blount Fine Foods buys Cape Cod Chowder Co.
Blount Fine Foods, Fall River, Mass., said it purchased the assets of Cape Cod Chowder Company, a Marion, Mass., competitor in fresh and frozen soups, dips and spreads.Terms were not disclosed.
Officials said Cape Cod produces more than 50 items for Northeast regional foodservice and wholesale distribution. It also sells its Cape Cod Chowder products through retail mail orders. Blount said it plans to transfer soup production to the company's newly renovated facility in Warren, R.I. Blount's Fall River plant will produce Cape Cod's Offshore Delight brand seafood dips and spreads.
"Cape Cod Chowder is an excellent company with strong management, great products and similar values and we have watched and admired them for years," said Todd Blount, Blount Fine Foods president. "We look forward to integrating its businesses and products into Blount Fine Foods."
