US Foods, Rosemont, Ill., expanded its distribution center in Memphis, Tenn., enabling it to better serve customers throughout West Tennessee, West Kentucky, East Arkansas and North Mississippi. The newly expanded building was also dedicated to former Memphis division president, Joe Campbell, who passed away earlier this year.

Among the many improvements to the 385,000-square-foot facility is an on-site truck repair shop and a new state-of-the-art kitchen where US Foods will host product demonstrations for customers.

“With more than double the storage capacity of our previous facility, we can significantly increase our product offerings for customers,” says Jimmy Kiser, Memphis division president. “Our new state-of-the-art kitchen will allow us to showcase our innovative products to our customers in a new way, and help inspire them to keep their menus fresh.”

The Memphis division has more than 375 employees and serves thousands of customers throughout the Southern region, including independent restaurants, healthcare and hospitality entities, government and educational institutions.
