Deep Foods Inc., Union, N.J., expanded its Tandoor Chef line to include Malai Kofta frozen entrée and Jalapeño Naan Pizza.
“Vegetarian consumers make up a large percentage of both the Indian and American population, yet truly healthy vegetarian dining options remain limited, especially when it comes to eating at home,” says Mike Ryan, vice president of sales and marketing. “That’s why we’ve introduced another delicious vegetarian option for our consumers. We’re proud to share this with the vegetarian community as a way of letting them know that we have their tastes and interests in mind.”
The Malai Kofta, an all-natural, certified-vegetarian entrée, features pillowy vegetable dumplings in a mildly-spiced creamy sauce, with just 140 calories per serving. Each 10-ounce box boasts a $3.99 suggested retail price.
Meanwhile, the Jalapeño Naan Pizza combines Buffalo Milk mozzarella cheese with jalapeños and is hand-stretched and fired in a clay Tandoor oven at 1,000°F.
