West Liberty Foods Purchases Quantum Foods
West Liberty Foods, LLC, West Liberty, Iowa, closed on the purchase of substantially all of the assets of Quantum Foods, Bolingbrook, Ill.
West Liberty Foods expects to start up meat processing operations at the Bolingbrook location within the next 30 days.
“This is an exciting step forward for West Liberty Foods,” says Ed Garrett, president and CEO for West Liberty Foods. “This acquisition will enhance our offerings and benefit our customers, employees and owners. In addition, we will be able to bring back jobs lost when Quantum Foods shut down its business.”
This purchase comes on the heels of Quantum Foods filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
