Processors to Watch in 2015

Refrigerated & Frozen Foods zeroes in on six refrigerated and frozen foods producers who showcase cutting-edge food processing, food safety and new product Processors to Watch in 2015introductions.

 

Meals & Entrées: BLAKE'S ALL NATURAL FOODS
Blake’s All Natural Foods has gone from a New England-only brand to a nationally recognized one by producing frozen meals made from scratch in small batches by real people (not machines), using only “kitchen” ingredients (not laboratory fillers).

 

Meat, Poultry & Seafood: BUTTERBALL
Butterball created the "Turketarian movement" and is said to be the first national turkey brand to become American Humane Certified by the American Humane Association.

 

Dairy Foods: THE DANNON CO., INC.
Earlier this year, Dannon expanded into the frozen aisle, widened its reach into the dessert market and joined forces with the Partnership for a Healthier America to further improve the nutrition profile of its yogurt products.

 

Snacks, Appetizers & Sides: BLOUNT FINE FOODS
In 2011, Blount Fine Foods received Refrigerated & Frozen Foods’  Refrigerated Foods Processor of the Year award. Today, it's putting the finishing touches on another capital expenditure and expanded beyond soups with a slew of new refrigerated products.

 

Bakery Foods: JANE'S DOUGH FOODS
Jane’s Dough Foods was established in 2008, but brings more than 50 years of pizza experience as part of the Donatos Pizzeria family. It produces 16 different SKUs of gluten-free offerings, complete with gluten-free toppings and gluten-free certifications, and upgraded from the traditional pizza box with what is now its primary packaging—the Eco-sleeve.
