Industrias Bachoco S.A.B. de C.V., a Mexico-based producer and processor of poultry and other food products, acquired a fully cooked chicken product plant from American Foods Group, Green Bay, Wis.

The process was performed through Bachoco's subsidiary OK Foods, Fort Smith, Ark. This strategic acquisition will help streamline and improve the product mix in OK Foods’ U.S. operations, and comprises of all assets of the Oklahoma City, Okla., plant, with a capacity to produce over 700,000 pounds per week of fully cooked chicken products.

“We are excited to add the Oklahoma City plant to our company along with our existing plants in Muldrow, Stigler and Heavener, and further expand our relationship with the Oklahoman community,” says Trent Goins, OK Foods president and CEO. “OK Foods plans to increase the production in this facility, which will allow OK Foods to hire even more hard-working employees from the local community.”

OK Foods announced the acquisition in December 2015 and closed the deal on Feb. 16.
