NatureSweet, Ganfer announce joint venture
NatureSweet, Ltd., a vertically integrated greenhouse grower of premium fresh tomatoes based in San Antonio, Texas, announced a partnership with Ganfer Grupo Empresarial, a Mexico-based greenhouse vegetable producer, which will add more than 100 hectares of greenhouses to NatureSweet’s production over the next three years.
The partnership will enable NatureSweet to increase production of its tomato brands, while enabling both NatureSweet and Ganfer to advance their respective expansion and growth plans.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with an organization that has the expertise of Ganfer,” says Bryant Ambelang, president and CEO of NatureSweet. “Our investment in expansion will help to secure our aggressive growth plans.”
Existing Ganfer greenhouses, plus new construction that has already begun, will bring the total venture to over 100 hectares of greenhouses with production beginning Nov. 1. There will be a second phase of expansion beginning April 1, 2017, with additional expansion each year for the next five years.
