Lineage Logistics, Fisher Construction build cold storage facility for Titan Frozen Fruit
The facility allowed Titan Frozen Fruit to start processing strawberries just seven months after breaking ground.
Lineage Logistics, a Colton, Calif.-based warehousing and logistics company sponsored by Bay Grove Capital LLC, San Francisco, contracted with Fisher Construction Group, Burlington, Wash., to build a 216,777-square-foot LEED-certified facility for Titan Frozen Fruit, Salinas, Calif.
The facility includes 151,000 square feet of cold storage and dock space, 65,000 square feet of on-site food processing and allowed Titan Frozen Fruit to start processing strawberries just seven months after breaking ground.
With the capacity to blast freeze 1 million pounds of product per day, the state-of-the-art facility will play a major role in meeting the expanding food processing needs in the Santa Maria, Calif., region.
One of the most unique factors of the project is the shared resources between the third-party logistics company (Lineage Logistics) and the food processor (Titan Frozen Fruit). The partnered facility gives Titan the benefit of a shared refrigeration system and having their refrigeration needs managed by on-site refrigeration expert Lineage Logistics.
