Titan Frozen Fruit, Santa Maria, Calif., announced plans to invest and expand into innovative thermal processing of particulate fruit ingredients.

The company’s new OHMIC heating system utilizes the passage of high-frequency current directly through the product as it flows through a thermal conductivity tubular system, representing what is said to be the fastest technology to uniformly heat fruit particulates while preserving the integrity, texture and organoleptic characteristics of the final product. Titan will now have the ability to offer frozen pasteurized and aseptic fruit particulates in a variety of cut sizes.

The new processing system will also have the capability to do aseptic processing and packaging to cold-fill pre-sterilized bags with pressure caps in different formats, including cases, drums, totes and smaller foodservice packs.

Titan plans to have the new thermal processing system operational by the end of January 2020.
